COATICOOK — A Coaticook man who has been held in jail since August of 2015 on numerous charges, will serve another two years behind bars after being sentenced this week.
Patrick Élément, 36, of Coaticook, pleaded guilty to charges of assault, threats, kidnapping, and sexual assault of his ex-wife back on March 22, 2015.
He was sentenced to serve three years in prison. With time already served, he will spend another two years behind bars.
After going on the run in March following the incident, a warrant was issued against him and police began searching for him throughout the area.
He was taken into custody in August of 2015, and has been held since that time.
Police say he is also a suspect for numerous break-ins throughout Coaticook.
The sentence was imposed by Judge Claire Desgens.
