Magog man’s violent rampage lands him in jail

MAGOG — A 34-year-old man from Magog was arrested last night after police say he threatened a woman, as well as police.

At around 9 p.m., police were called to Boulevard des Étudiants for a report of a man who had disturbed the peace, but he had fled the scene before they arrived.

About 30 minutes later a second call came in, this time on rue Calixa-Lavallée.

Police say the same individual entered a woman’s apartment without knocking and began insulting the residents. One of the residents was able to throw the man out, but a window was broken during the altercation, police say.

The suspect was found by police at his apartment and was arrested for mischief and possession of cannabis.

That night, while being detained, police had to intervene for his safety because he was hysterical.

He wanted to attack officers and made several threats.

He appeared this morning at the Sherbrooke courthouse to answer to various charges.
