MAGOG — A noise complaint resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man in Magog on Saturday morning. The incident took place on rue Principale Est.
Police say after the third call, one of the offenders insulted the officers and refused to identify himself. He was arrested for obstructing and assaulting an officer and released on a promise to appear with conditions.
At around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, a call came in for a fire that started in a garage. The fire took place on rue des Sapins in Ste-Catherine-de-Hatley. The fire caused a total loss of the house and garage.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been from hot ashes that were not disposed of properly. Nobody was injured in the blaze, and damage is estimated at more than $200,000.
Finally, a 30-year-old woman was arrested for driving while impaired by alcohol on Saturday night, at around 10:40 p.m.
She was pulled over by police on rue Didace in Magog. The breath test revealed levels exceeding twice the legal limit. Police say her license will be suspended for 90 days.
