MAGOG — An officer from the Memphremagog Police Authority (RPM) was involved in a shooting on rue St-Luc in Magog early this morning.
Police say they received a domestic dispute call at around 2 a.m. Once on the scene, police were confronted by a woman at the residence notifying them that a man displaying threatening behavior was at the home.
At some point, a shot was fired by police.
“The officers were confronted with a man who presented a threat,” said Sergeant Aurélie Guindon, with the Sûreté du Québec.
Police confirm that a 30-year-old man was shot during the incident.
They also say that he was in possession of a knife at the time as well as a pellet gun.
The man was rushed to the hospital in Sherbrooke, and is reported to be suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
