STANSTEAD — An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle head on crash in Stanstead-Est.
Police are not sure what caused the woman to lose control of the vehicle, but at around 1 p.m. on Stage Road, she skidded off in a curve into the oncoming lane.
A van that was traveling in the other direction violently collided with the passenger side of the young woman’s vehicle.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for what police describe as “serious injuries.”
The driver in the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital.
“An investigation was opened to clarify the circumstances of the collision,” said Aurélie Guindon, of the Sûreté du Québec.”
